    Library News & Updates!

    Last Curbside

Our last curbside circulation is June 3rd from 2-4. Returns are being accepted then, and everyday at school’s front door drop-off bins.

Because of the need for accurate inventory and accounting as we transition to our next year, there will be no summer circulation from the Dearborn Park Library.

Bookman Welcomes Kathleen Gillespie as the next librarian for our Dearborn Park Dragons. She comes from John Stanford International Elementary and is someone I know will enjoy serving our community of readers. librarian with books.

Look for an email from our library detailing outstanding books and fines associated with lost books. Notices are intended to help families round up materials for return. We invite families to email with our librarian about resolution of lost and missing books. Replacement or substitute donations, payment in person to the school office, or online payment through SchoolPay in the Source are all options that can resolve student accounts. This is especially important for students moving on to middle school next year, as a record of fines and lost materials will follow them can be harder to resolve once they’ve left DPIS.

Seattle Public Library Summer Reading, Summer of Learning

Our SPL librarian partner Warren Chin will speak with all grades during these last few library meetings, with updates on opportunities that will be featured on the SPL Summer of Learning page.

-> Remember that Free Family Library Passes are available all summer with student LibraryLink cards or your SPL #.

I challenge parents and students to participate in the SAL Summer Book Bingo Challenge. It’s a great way to encourage reading widely…and it’s fun! Visit the Seattle Arts & Lectures Summer Book Bingo to download and submit.
