Your child's teacher is now scheduling conferences for  Nov 18, 20 and 21st. Sign up and make sure you take advantage of this opportunity to strengthen your child's education at Dearborn Park International School.

A parent teacher conference is one of the many steps we are taking to work with you to build your child’s educational program. We will discuss your child’s progress and learn more about him/her. This is a critical time for us to discuss your child’s education.
A parent teacher conference gives you a chance to:

    • Discuss your child’s strengths and growth areas in various subjects.
    • Learn about the school and curriculum.
    • Get to know your child’s teacher.
    • Tell us about ways we can support in improving your child’s educational program.

To get ready for a conference you might want to make a list of things that will help teachers understand your child better. For example:

    • Any special health needs/concerns.
    • Outside interest and hobbies.
    • Feelings about school and friendships.
    • Relationship with brothers or sisters, family, etc…

You might also want to make a list of things you want to find out from the teacher like:

    • Services or programs the school offers.
    • Discipline policies.
    • Grading policy.
    • Daily schedule.
    • Homework policy.

Talk to your child to get ideas about what should be covered and to relieve anxiety about the conference. After the conference, tell the child what was discussed and be sure to talk about any changes or new plans.
