Welcome to the Comprehensive School Counseling Program website at Dearborn Park Elementary School! I am thrilled you stopped by! My office is centrally located just off our library.
Goal: To nurture the development of every child in our building so that each child experiences academic success and the joy of positive relationships.
Dearborn Park International School Comprehensive School Counseling Program
Our Comprehensive School Counseling Program is aligned with the standards of the American School Counselor Association National Model
The program is in three parts:
- Classroom lessons in every grade level: We use a prosocial/anti-bully curriculum involving instruction and experiences related to social skill development in the areas of school success, friendship, and communication. We are using Second Step, Steps to Respect, and Skill Streaming.
- Small Groups: The purpose of small groups is to expand, enrich, and increase specific skills in areas such as: friendship, emotion management, and school success.
- Individual: Individual counseling is also available to students to address specific skills with the goal of later inclusion in a small group.
